I’m Alessandra Dagdag, and I’m running for Vice Governor of the School of Computing because I believe in a future where technology is innovative, inclusive, and accessible to everyone. I dream big and unrealistically, but I plan meticulously to turn those ideas into reality. I am firm yet understanding, able to communicate a clear vision while keeping my team aligned and motivated. I balance intellect with humor, professionalism with relatability, and ambition with practicality. I observe, I listen, and I act with intention. Leadership, to me, is about creating a space where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute. "In the fast-paced world of techonlogy, opportunities should be limitless, but for many, there are barriers in the way. Underrepresented communities and schools often lack the access to resources and networks that most have. That's where TECHquity comes in. This advocacy is centered on my belief that everyone should have a chance to excel in tech. However, not everyone is given the same opportunities. As a student in the field of Information Technology, I envision a community that is equally informed. This advocacy is dedicated to the goal of having brilliant minds from diverse backgrounds come together to gain the exposure and information they need to thrive in this field. By bridging gaps, we are bridging minds."

Ever since I started working with Alessandra under the same office, I have witnessed firsthand the fire and eagerness in her spirit when it comes to fulfilling her responsibilities. From day one, she has displayed dedication in tackling every task with perseverance and diligence. Her commitment to her role as an Alphafox is truly inspiring and she never settles for mediocrity but always strives to go above and beyond. One of the things I admire most about Alessandra is her ability to balance hard work with genuine passion. She doesn’t just do her tasks—she pours her heart into them. She is always willing to step up, contribute, and ensure that everything runs smoothly on her reach. Her works and personality pushes those around her, including myself, to do better. She has been more than just a co-staff to me, she has been a role model, someone I look up to for her resilience, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Beyond her work, Alessandra possesses the kind of character that makes her an exceptional leader. She is approachable, compassionate, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Her ability to connect with people, understand their concerns, and provide solutions sets her apart where almost everyone who has had the privilege of working with her can see that she has the skills, personality, and vision to lead and create meaningful change. I have no doubt that Alessandra’s leadership will bring positive transformation. She doesn’t just talk about change—she makes it happen. And that is exactly the kind of leader we need.
I made many new friends and met a lot of different people at the beginning of my first year of college, but none were quite like Alessandra. She is the kind of friend who brings joy and humor to every situation by genuinely listening and understanding. Her presence alone creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it easy for anyone to feel comfortable around her. She is always ready to help without hesitation, and her kindness and compassion shine through in everything she does. Whether it’s offering words of encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing a laugh, she has a way of making even the most stressful days feel lighter. Beyond being a great friend, Alessandra is also a natural leader. She leads with confidence and integrity, inspiring those around her to strive for the best. She is not only dependable but also driven, always stepping up when needed and ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard. Having a friend like her by my side is truly uplifting, as she brightens my day just by being herself.
